Zeybek: 'The government has no plans to bring a permanent solution to the problems of Xanthi Hospital'
MP Zeybek issued a statement on the issue and said that the response of the Ministry of Health confirmed all the concerns and allegations he had raised.
MP Zeybek reminded that due to the shortage of specialised doctors (pathologists) and staff in Xanthi Hospital, he raised the risk of the hospital being converted into a health centre with the parliamentary question no. 489/30-8-2023 to the Ministry of Health and stressed that the ministry responded to the question after two months. Zeybek underlined that 12 previous parliamentary questions had not been answered and said, "We should congratulate the new management of the Ministry of Health for responding to our question."
Hüseyin Zeybek noted that the Ministry of Health as well as the government authorities have not fulfilled their constitutional obligations on the issue and have systematically kept silent and disrespected the representatives elected by the people. "When we examine the response of the Ministry, we see that all the concerns and allegations we raised in the question we submitted are confirmed. Unfortunately, regarding the shortage of pathologists and staff, the government seems to be applying the 'as far as it goes' tactic and trying to manage the situation. It seems that the government has no plan to bring a permanent solution to the problems of Xanthi Hospital."
Deputy Zeybek emphasised that the response of the Ministry of Health, even though it does not approve of the possibility of converting the Xanthi Hospital into a health centre, has caused concern among the citizens.
