Western Thrace Turkish Women’s Platform discusses women’s issues in Western Thrace
Held at the Xanthi branch of the Western Thrace Minority Culture and Education Association, the event highlighted human rights and the role of women in society. Key speakers included DEB Party Chairwoman Çiğdem Asafoğlu, journalist Hülya Emin, special education expert Meltem Giritli, and attorney İlker Çavuşoğlu, who addressed various social, political, legal, and cultural challenges faced by Turkish women in Western Thrace.
The event was attended by Aykut Ünal, Turkey’s Consul General in Komotini, İbrahim Şerif, President of the Advisory Council and Mufti of Komotini, Xanthi Mufti Mustafa Trampa, and several civil society leaders and women from the community.
