Western Thrace Fenerbahce Association case concluded
The closure case against the Western Thrace Fenerbahce Association, which was officially established in Komotini, was discussed for the second time this morning.
The Western Thrace Fenerbahce Association, which was established in Komotini with a court decision in accordance with the law, but was sued for closure because it has the phrase "Western Thrace" in its name, will continue its activities legally.
The Rhodope Prosecutor's Office claimed that the name of the association was against the law because it had the phrase "Western Thrace".
The first hearing of the objection case filed by the Prosecutor's Office was held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the Rodop Province Single Judge Civil Court of First Instance.
In the first hearing, the case was adjourned to 14 June 2023 by the judge in order to add further evidence to the objection case.
The second hearing of the appeal case against the closure of the association was held this morning (Wednesday, June 14, 2023) at the Rodop Province Single Judge Civil Court of First Instance.
The case file was closed after the Prosecutor, who appealed, withdrew the appeal application. Therefore the case was closed.
Western Thrace Fenerbahce Association, which has been operating in accordance with the law as per the statute, from the day it was founded until today, will continue to work actively and legally from now on.
