He also raised concerns about the penalties imposed on those who have not yet registered.

With the support of the New Left Party Parliamentary Group, Ferhat submitted a written question to the Minister of Finance and Economy regarding the consequences of the strict September 2 registration deadline. He emphasized that the €1,500 fine imposed on individuals who failed to meet the deadline is excessively punitive and could have significant negative effects on many self-employed individuals.

In his inquiry, Ferhat asked whether the government plans to extend the registration period and suspend the €1,500 fine to allow more time for compliance. He also questioned what measures the state would take to protect its citizens from these penalties.

Ferhat’s main points included:

Whether the registration deadline for the IRIS system will be extended for self-employed individuals and freelancers.

Whether the government will suspend the €1,500 fine to give more time for all obligated individuals to complete their registration.

The issue is now awaiting a response from the government.
