Regional Governors meet with ministers to discuss regional finances
A working meeting between the country’s regional governors and the Ministers of Interior, Theodoros Livanios, and National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, took place on Monday, January 20, 2025. This was the first meeting following the reorganization of the administrative council of the Union of Greek Regions (ENPE).

Among the participants were Regional Governors Christodoulos Topsidis (Eastern Macedonia and Thrace), Giorgos Hatzimarkos, Stavros Arnaoutakis, Dimitris Ptochos, Nektarios Farmakis, Fanis Spanos, Christos Michalakis, and Alexandros Kachrimanis.
Focus on Development and Infrastructure
The main topic of the meeting was the enhancement of the National Development Program (NDP), which serves as the primary funding mechanism for implementing projects and initiatives in the regions. Special emphasis was placed on maintaining road networks and cleaning streams, areas requiring substantial funding with no room for budget cuts.
