Port of Dedeağaç: Revenue down 35.69% in 2024

The Port of Dedeağaç recorded a 35.69% drop in revenue in 2024, along with a notable decline in net profits, according to figures reported by Metaforespress.gr.

In detail, the port’s turnover reached €2.92 million in 2023, up from €1.69 million in 2022, marking a 35.46% increase that year. However, in 2024, turnover fell to €1.47 million, representing a sharp decrease of 35.69%.
Net profits also declined to €594,308, compared to €1,113,955 in 2023.

In April 2024, Panagiotis Stamboulidis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Dedeağaç (OLA), had stated that “2024 is expected to bring an increase in revenue, based on efforts to expand the client base and better utilize company assets.”

A significant portion of the port’s income comes from leasing land within the port zone to companies such as Gastrade and firms handling NATO military logistics, as well as from the parking area operated by a private contractor—whose monthly fee was notably increased this year.

Toward the end of 2024, it was also revealed that the TITAN Group, in collaboration with the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) and the Port Authority of Alexandroupolis, plans to establish a Cement Storage and Distribution Center within the port zone.

The project, covering approximately 7,800 square meters, will unfold in three phases:

Phase 1 completion by end of 2027

Phase 2 by 2031

Phase 3 by 2033

These developments, along with other investment prospects currently under discussion, are expected to significantly reshape the financial outlook of the Port Authority in the coming years.

Meanwhile, €19.1 million worth of infrastructure works (plus VAT) are underway, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility, including:

Dredging of the port basin and navigation channel, and

Road connection linking the new commercial pier to the Eastern Peripheral Road.
