Old tomato paste factory SEVATH up for sale

After years of abandonment following its bankruptcy, SEVATH, once one of the largest cooperative factories in Xanthi, will be sold via public auction on September 25, managed by trustees appointed by the state.
Built gradually between 1976 and 1985, the factory sits on a 196,962 square meter plot along the Xanthi-Komotini highway. The auction will include both the industrial buildings and the land.
Following the sale, the buildings are expected to be demolished, and any remaining industrial equipment will be removed. The future use of the site remains unclear, and it is not yet known whether a new factory will be built.
The land's value was assessed by two independent committees, with estimates of 2.945 million euros and 2.925 million euros, respectively. The trustees have set the starting price for the auction at 2.935 million euros.
