İlhan Ahmet: “Give back everything you denied from Thrace”

MP İlhan AHMET called out to the government and said, "I am calling on you to give back to Thrace everything that you have denied for the last 20 years and everything that has its right."

Movement for Change (KINAL) Rhodope Deputy İlhan AHMET took the floor at the session of the parliamentary general assembly on Tuesday, February 1, where discussions on the new development law were held.

Criticizing the bill with the words, "Such a development law that does not include Thrace, which should be the main actor in development, is unacceptable", MP İlhan AHMET called out to the government and said, "For the last 20 years, you want to give back to Thrace and those who live there, everything that you have denied from Thrace. I'm calling you!” said.

Reminding how Thrace was abused in the past with uncontrolled public incentives under the name of investment and development, the deputy said, “Thrace has gained an undeserved reputation in Greece and all over Europe and has been called the El Dorado of fraudsters who abuse public money.

“I condemn these qualifications”

As a Thracian, I condemn these qualifications. Because these analogies, which disparage our Thrace, have contributed to the depreciation of Thrace, the zeroing of its industry in the last 20 years, the ghosting of our industrial zones, and the transformation of the people of the region into immigrants by being unemployed.

The state, which turns a blind eye to intermediaries and exploiters who make money from the air, has associated its ineffective and unsuccessful policies, which show its own weakness in administration, with Thrace.” he stressed.

In his speech, Deputy İlhan AHMET drew attention to the decisions in the report prepared by the Thrace Development Commission. The Commission in order to re-develop Thrace, which had paid the price for the unsuccessful policies of the past administrations, and to make it an attractive region that can be invested and listed 12 items that need to be implemented urgently.

In addition to the proposals in the Thrace Development Commission report, İlhan Ahmet also expressed the suggestions of the Rhodope Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen regarding the development of the region.  İlhan Ahmet ended his speech by saying, "Such a development law that does not include Thrace, which should be the main actor in development, is unacceptable. I am calling on you to give back to Thrace and its inhabitants everything that you have denied from Thrace for the last 20 years, and everything that is rightfully theirs!”
