Hüseyin Baltacı, President of the Western Thrace Minority Graduates Association (BTAYTD), was summoned to the Xanthi Police Department to provide a statement regarding an incident involving appointed muftis at the Aşağımahalle Çınar Mosque during Friday prayers.

The incident occurred on October 11, following the opening ceremony of the Xanthi Medrese. Appointed muftis attempted to enter the mosque but were denied entry by the congregation. This led to an investigation, and Baltacı was called to testify on Monday, December 2.

After receiving the case file, Baltacı announced he would submit a written statement. On his social media, he commented:

"Today, I am giving a statement regarding an investigation into a matter where the Western Thrace Turkish Minority is entirely justified. With hope for the days when our rights will be achieved, greetings to all!"

This development highlights ongoing tensions surrounding the appointed mufti system in Western Thrace.
