High fire risk in the Rhodope region today
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Greek Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection has published the Fire Risk Forecast Map for Saturday 29 June 2024.
In the Fire Risk Forecast Map published by the Secretariat for the whole country, the Rhodope region will be among the risky regions.
Rhodope is shown in yellow on the map. It will be one of the regions where the risk of fire is high at level 3.
The Evros region, which is neighbouring the Rhodope region, will be shown in yellow on tomorrow's risk map, while the Xanthi region will be shown in blue among the medium-level regions.
According to the map published by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, the Rhodope region is likely to experience an increasing number of fires, many of which will be difficult to overcome if local conditions are favourable (topography, local winds, temperature, etc.).
