Greek Deputy Minister of Infrastructure N. Tachiaos visits Dimario

Greek Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Nikos Tachiaos visited the Municipality of Myki on Friday, May 16, where he held a working meeting with Mayor Ahmet Kurt at the town hall.

The agenda included discussions on the vertical road axis project, focusing in particular on the section connecting Dimario to the Greek-Bulgarian border, as well as other ongoing infrastructure projects in the municipality.

After the meeting, Deputy Minister Tachiaos, accompanied by Mayor Kurt, Xanthi Deputy Regional Governor Polyxeni Brika, Deputy Regional Governor for Infrastructure Irfan Hatzigenes, and deputy mayors Fatih Ismailko and Ibrahim Mahmout, visited the village of Dimario.

According to sources, Tachiaos was briefed on the progress of construction work, the estimated completion timeline, and challenges related to parallel agricultural road works. Residents have long expressed concerns that the contracted construction company has not fulfilled its obligations to build access roads to agricultural lands—an issue that remains unresolved.

It is worth noting that there were no updates provided on the second section of the project, from Dimario to Melivoia, neither during the municipal meeting on the local development plan nor in Tachiaos' statements. That section remains tied up in legal disputes between the companies that submitted bids for the contract.
