Greek Cypriot students organise demonstration in Komotini
Greek Cypriot students organised a protest demonstration in Komotini on the anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The demonstration of Greek Cypriot students took place in the evening hours of Wednesday 15 November (today).
Greek Cypriot students studying at university in Komotini organised a march to protest the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The demonstrators gathered in front of the old rectorate building and marched to the Consulate General of Turkey in Komotini. Approximately 30 Greek Cypriot students participated in the demonstration.
The demonstrators came to the street where the Consulate General of Türkiye in Komotini is located. Here, in front of the police barricade, they chanted "Turks out of Cyprus", "Cyprus is Greek" and two representatives of the group read the declaration and put it on the board in front of the Consulate General's garden wall. The group dispersed without any incident after singing the Greek national anthem.
