Forty sacrifice tradition continue in 'Karkam' plateau
In Hebilköy of Kozlukebir Municipality, Rhodope province, the traditional event of Kirk Sacrifice, which has been going on for 700 years, was held with great enthusiasm on Sunday, 2 June.
The event organised by the villagers in the "Karkam" area of Hebilköy was attended by the President of the Friendship, Equality and Peace (FEP) Party, Çiğdem Asafoğlu, who will participate in the European Parliament (EP) elections on 9 June, and the party's parliamentary candidates, Representing the Consulate General of Turkey in Komotini, Vice Consul Subutay Koç, Mayor of Kozlukebir Erdem Hüseyin, New Left Party MP for the province of Rodopi Özgür Ferhat, President of the Western Thrace Minority Culture and Education Company Hüseyin Bostancı, members of the State Assembly and cognates attended the event.
The event ended with a traditional pilaf with meat called "copperlama" served to the participants.
