Farmers in Rhodope have once again blocked the Egnatia Motorway near the western Gümülcine (Komotini) interchange.
Farmers in Rhodope have once again blocked the Egnatia Motorway near the western Gümülcine (Komotini) interchange.
According to ERT, after temporarily opening the road last Monday ahead of the Christmas period, the protest resumed today (27-12-2025) at 11:00, disrupting traffic in the direction of İskeçe (Xanthi).
Drivers are being redirected to exit at Gümülcine (Komotini) and continue either via the old national road through Porto Lagos or through Yassıköy (Iasmos), where they can rejoin the motorway.
