Farmers block Dedeağaç Airport exit with tractors
As a result, if Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis lands at Dedeağaç Airport tomorrow for his scheduled visit to the Rhodope region, he will be unable to leave the airport by road. He will therefore have to either travel via Kavala or fly by helicopter from Dedeağaç to Rhodope — a scenario that, according to political commentators, would not present a “favorable” public image.
The Prime Minister is expected to visit Rhodope on Tuesday, with the following official schedule:
Morning: Visit to Maroneia.
Midday: Visits to the DESFA Natural Gas Compression Station and Interplast facilities in the Gümülcine Industrial Zone.
1:00 p.m.: Visit to the Music High School and the Karatheodori Museum in Gümülcine, followed by a meeting with local youth.
2:30 p.m.: Inspection of the Gümülcine Hospital construction site, funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
