Abdullah Eren, President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), emphasized that Syrian graduates who studied in Türkiye would take on crucial roles in rebuilding their country. “We believe that over 16,000 Syrian graduates from Türkiye will undertake significant and critical responsibilities in constructing a new Syria,” he stated.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Eren highlighted the progress in Syria and the efforts of the interim administration, expressing satisfaction with the country's gradual stabilization. He added, “We hope this stability continues, and we believe the legitimacy of Syria’s interim government will be recognized globally.”

Eren noted that, under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s directive, Türkiye is committed to supporting Syria’s reconstruction in terms of infrastructure, state institutions, and human resources. He said:

"There are approximately 16,000 Syrian university graduates from Türkiye, most of whom were educated through Türkiye Scholarships. We’ve begun to establish communication with these graduates and document their expertise.”
Eren stressed that these graduates will revitalize Syrian institutions, bringing technical knowledge gained in Türkiye back to their homeland.

He also highlighted examples such as Esaad Hasan Sheybani, a graduate of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, serving as Syria's Interim Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Azzam Garib, a Bingöl University graduate, appointed Governor of Aleppo.
