Dedeağaç–Midilli air link expected to launch in early 2027
Plans are moving forward for the establishment of a direct air connection between Dedeağaç and Mytilene, with services expected to begin in early 2027.
The proposed route is aimed at improving connectivity between the northeastern Aegean and the Evros region, strengthening tourism, business activity and regional mobility. Local officials have described the project as an important step toward enhancing transportation links and promoting economic cooperation between the two areas.
The connection is expected to facilitate travel for residents, visitors and business travelers while contributing to broader regional development goals. Authorities have highlighted the strategic importance of improved transport infrastructure in supporting both tourism growth and interregional cooperation.
Once operational, the route is anticipated to reduce travel times significantly and provide a new transportation option linking mainland Greece with the northeastern Aegean islands.
Further technical and administrative procedures are expected to be completed before the service becomes operational in 2027.
