Burhan Baran addresses ambulance shortage in Xanthi
Independent MP Burhan Baran highlights the inadequate ambulance and emergency services in Xanthi, urging the Ministry of Health to take concrete action.
Independent MP Burhan Baran has raised concerns about the lack of adequate ambulance and emergency services in the Xanthi region.
Baran stated that he has repeatedly brought this issue to the parliamentary agenda, yet the Ministry of Health has failed to take any concrete steps. Criticizing the Ministry’s inaction, he reaffirmed his commitment to pushing for a solution.
A statement from Burhan Baran’s political office included the following remarks:
"Following a recent case reported in the local press regarding staff shortages in the ambulance service at Xanthi Hospital, I would like to emphasize that since 2020, I have repeatedly intervened in parliament to highlight the urgent need to strengthen the ambulance services in Xanthi and its surrounding areas."
Through a series of parliamentary questions, Baran has made the following demands to the Ministry of Health:
Modernization of the ambulance fleet with new vehicles to meet the region’s growing needs.
Recruitment of additional paramedics and ambulance drivers to ensure timely and effective healthcare services for citizens.
Improvement of infrastructure and training for emergency service personnel to enhance response capabilities.
Despite repeated interventions, Baran noted that the Ministry’s responses have remained vague and lacked concrete commitments. He emphasized that the shortcomings of the National Emergency Aid Center (EKAB) in Xanthi continue to endanger the health and safety of residents, particularly those in remote areas.
"I will continue to demand urgent and substantial solutions to ensure that Xanthi receives the pre-hospital emergency care system it rightfully deserves," Baran concluded.
