Alexandroupoli LNG Terminal to resume operations in May

Inspections are underway to determine whether the issue is purely technical or a construction-related fault.

The Alexandroupoli LNG terminal is expected to resume operations in May, according to Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy, Zhecho Stankov. Gastrade has also confirmed that the new operational date is set for May 15.

Minister Stankov further stated that inspections are being carried out to verify whether the issue is purely technical or if it stems from a construction defect in the terminal’s pumps.

It is noted that the terminal has been out of service since late January. Stankov also mentioned that the Bulgarian side was promptly informed by Gastrade and secured alternative gas supplies from Turkey.
