Xanthi Teachers' Association, together with the educators and parents of Xanthi 1st Private School, demonstrate to solve the school's building problem in Xanthi city center on 3 December International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
In the protest demonstration in Xanthi city square, the activists demanded an immediate solution to the building problem of Xanthi 1st Private School from the authorities.
The statement made on the subject is as follows:
“Today, December 3, is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Today, Xanthi Teachers' Association, education staff and parents of Xanthi 1st Private School students to highlight the building and housing problem of Xanthi 1st Private School. Education, especially the education of the disabled, requires places that provide safety conditions, meet the educational needs of children without any problems, and facilitate the pedagogical creativity of teachers for the benefit of children. We demand an immediate solution to the construction problem of Xanthi 1st Private School. We don't want any more delays!”
Xanthi Minority Secondary School and High School have been experiencing a building problem similar to that of Xanthi 1st Private School for years. However, the authorities have not found a solution to this problem for years. Despite all the dangers in a 200-year-old tobacco warehouse, students continue their education even in airless basement classrooms. Due to the shortage of classrooms, 5 branches of the school have to continue their education in the afternoon.
Xanthi Teachers' Association has not shown any example of solidarity to find a solution to the building problem of Xanthi Minority Secondary and High School. However, the solidarity and action of Xanthi 1st Private School for the building problem was appreciated by the public.
