Citizen Protection Minister Takis Theodorikakos reported that the length of the steel fence built on the banks of the Meriç (Evros) River will be 140 kilometers to prevent asylum seekers and immigrants.
Participating in a program on SKAI TV, Theodorikakos claimed that 256 thousand illegal crossings were blocked by the Greek Police and stated that the decision to build a fence on the borders of Greece and Europe with Türkiye is the responsibility of the Ministry of Citizen Protection.
Theodorikakos said that work has been started with the relevant ministries for the construction of the fence.
