14 arrests in 3 days for traffic violations in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace
Police in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace have arrested 14 individuals between April 20 and April 22, 2025, for violations of the Road Traffic Code. The arrests took place in various regions, including Xanthi, Kavala, Drama, and Rodopi.
The arrests were part of a series of traffic checks aimed at addressing dangerous driving behaviors. During this period, the following individuals were apprehended:
Xanthi Region: Four locals were arrested. One was involved in a traffic accident while driving under the influence of alcohol. The other three were found driving vehicles and motorcycles without valid driving licenses.
Kavala Region: Five locals and three foreign nationals were arrested. One individual was found driving a motorcycle under the influence of alcohol and involved in a minor traffic accident. Another was caught driving a car while intoxicated. Six other individuals were found operating vehicles and motorcycles without a valid driver's license.
Drama Region: One local was arrested for driving a car without a valid license.
Rodopi Region: One local was arrested for riding a motorcycle without a valid license.
The police have emphasized that these checks will continue in the coming days to ensure road safety in the region.
