3rd International Young Writers' Gathering held in Istanbul
The 3rd International Young Writers' Gathering, organized by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), took place in Istanbul at Rami Library, hosted by YTB President Abdullah Eren. The event brought together young writers living abroad, international students, and literary enthusiasts, aiming to strengthen cultural and literary ties globally. This year, the theme focused on Gaza’s poets and writers, raising awareness about the ongoing conflict through literature.
Eren emphasized Turkish as a unifying literary language and highlighted the event’s role in fostering creativity among Turkish-speaking youth from around the world. Over 84 young participants from 28 countries joined workshops, panels, and readings, contributing to Turkish literature and creating lasting cultural bonds.
The gathering concluded with the announcement of the winners of the "YTB World Literature Awards," where young writers were honored for their contributions to Turkish literature and intercultural dialogue.
