Türkiye-Greece Hackathon online phase begins

The online phase of the Türkiye-Greece Hackathon, organized to strengthen international collaboration, enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and deepen cultural and technological ties between the two nations, has officially started.

This inaugural event, co-organized by Informatics Valley and THE Athens Startup Business Incubator, brought together 40 selected teams from both countries, merging them into 20 groups to develop innovative projects.

Participants receive training in critical areas such as ideation, business model development, and elevator pitch techniques. They also benefit from the guidance of 20 experienced mentors from Türkiye and Greece.

Teams that excel in the first phase of the hackathon will advance to the semifinals, scheduled for February 20-21 at the Informatics Valley Campus in Kocaeli. The top six teams from this round will compete in the final on February 26-27 in Athens, where they will present their projects for the grand prize.

The winning team will receive €20,000, the second-place team €10,000, and the third-place team €5,000. Additionally, the top three teams will gain six months of incubation support at either Informatics Valley or the Athens Startup Business Incubator.

The hackathon aims to equip cities with smart systems, improve quality of life, and implement sustainable, green city technologies. For young entrepreneurs, it presents an excellent opportunity to showcase their creative potential while fostering stronger cultural and technological connections between Turkey and Greece.
