Tsipras’ new party to debut in 2026
Former Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is reportedly working on a new political project, with plans to officially launch the party in 2026.
According to national media reports, the party will have a two-word name emphasizing democracy and a “new beginning,” but without direct links to left-wing ideology.
Preparations and Political Contacts
From November 2025 to January 2026, Tsipras intends to hold informal meetings with figures from SYRIZA, New Left, PASOK, and other center-left circles. Once the party is officially announced, outreach will extend to individuals from different political backgrounds without preconditions. The first indirect promotion is expected during the November 2025 launch of Tsipras’s new book, where several future party members will also be introduced to the public.
Structure and Character
The new party will be leader-centered, with an initial organizational chart including:
President (Alexis Tsipras)
Spokesperson
Organizational Coordinator
Head of Political Planning
All posts will be subject to approval by members and supporters before the next general election.
Timeline
June 2026 – Presentation of the founding declaration
August 2026 – Announcement of the party’s name and emblem
September 2026 – Tsipras’s first appearance as party leader at the Selanik International Fair, unveiling the political program
