Tree falls on a travelling car

Due to the strong winds blowing across the country, a traffic accident occurred when a tree fell on a passing car.

According to the information obtained, the incident took place on the Oropos-Malakasa road in the Eastern Attiki Region.

All 4 occupants of the vehicle, a 37-year-old father, a 35-year-old mother and two small children, were slightly injured. The parents are being treated at the Athens State Hospital and the children at the Children's Hospital.

Due to the bad weather conditions, a total of 243 calls were received at the fire brigade's operations centre yesterday, mainly about fallen trees - even causing a car accident.

The fire brigade authorities urge citizens to be particularly vigilant in the event of bad weather and to strictly follow the instructions of the competent authorities in weather events.
