Topsidis meets with European Commission Vice President Raffaele Fitto

The Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Christodoulos Topsidis, met with Raffaele Fitto, Vice President of the European Commission for Cohesion and Reforms, at the Zappeion Megaron in Athens.
During their meeting, they discussed the importance of EU cohesion policy for the development and prosperity of the region. Topsidis highlighted the critical role of strategic investments, cross-border cooperation, and the utilization of European funds to ensure balanced regional growth.
“Cohesion policy, as the EU’s core investment tool, is an essential mechanism for Eastern Macedonia and Thrace to ensure that no part of the region is left behind through strategic investments, cross-border collaborations, and the efficient use of European resources,” Topsidis stated on social media.
The meeting underscored the EU’s commitment to regional development, aiming to bridge economic and social disparities while fostering sustainable growth and resilience in one of Greece’s most strategically significant areas.
