Greek police are searching for a 46-year-old naval officer suspected of setting fire to a woman's apartment and several vehicles in three separate arson incidents in Glyfada and Neo Irakleio, near Athens, in the early hours of Friday, October 30.

According to reports by Greek newspaper Efsyn, the suspect is the former partner of three women connected to the incidents. He has reportedly faced allegations of domestic violence in the past.

THREE ARSON INCIDENTS IN TWO AREAS

The first incident occurred at approximately 2:10 a.m. in an apartment building on Vyzantiou Street in Glyfada. The suspect allegedly entered the second-floor apartment of his 36-year-old former partner and started a fire, damaging the interior of the property and shattering the glass door leading to the balcony. A container containing petrol was reportedly found in the bedroom.

A few minutes later, two parked cars were set on fire on Nymfon Street, also in Glyfada. One vehicle belonged to the suspect's 55-year-old former partner, while the other was owned by her current partner. Firefighters reportedly discovered two petrol-soaked cloth bundles placed on the bonnets of the vehicles. Both cars sustained damage to their front sections.

CAR DESTROYED IN NEO IRAKLEIO

At 4:38 a.m., another fire broke out on Crete Street in Neo Irakleio, where a vehicle belonging to a 49-year-old woman was completely destroyed. The flames also spread to a second parked car, causing extensive material damage.

The owner of the destroyed vehicle was also reportedly a former partner of the suspect.

POLICE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY

Greek police have identified the 46-year-old as the alleged perpetrator and are conducting investigations to locate and arrest him.

The Glyfada and Irakleio Criminal Investigation and Detection Departments are handling the cases. Authorities are investigating the three incidents, while the suspect's alleged history of domestic violence has also drawn attention.
