Thirty-five fires across Greece in the last 24 hours

In the past 24 hours, Greece has experienced thirty-five agricultural and forest fires. According to Fire Department, thirty-one of these fires have been swiftly extinguished while firefighting crews are currently tackling four more incidents.

Fire Department urging citizens to exercise extreme caution and follow instructions by authorities.

High fire risk forecast for Crete on Saturday

High fire risk (category 4) is forecasted for Saturday in the Region of Crete, according to the Fire Risk Forecast Map issued by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.

Ministry has alerted relevant state services, region and municipalities of Crete to be on heightened alert for civil protection, prepared to respond promptly to any wildfire incidents.
