Scorching heat expected across Greece
The ongoing heatwave affecting Greece is expected to intensify further on Thursday, June 26, according to a weather forecast report issued by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
Temperatures are forecasted to continue rising across the country, with inland regions expected to see highs of 40 to 41°C. While the weather will generally remain clear, brief local cloud formations may occur in mountainous areas of Central and Northern Greece during the afternoon hours.
Winds will blow from the north at force 3 to 5 on the Beaufort scale, reaching up to force 6 at times over the Aegean Sea.
Weather in Macedonia and Thrace
In the regions of Macedonia and Thrace, skies will remain mostly clear. However, localized cloud cover may form in mountainous areas of Macedonia in the afternoon. Winds in these regions will be variable in direction and blow at force 3 to 4.
Temperatures in these areas will range from a low of 21°C to a high of 41°C during the day.

Authorities are advising elderly citizens, children, and individuals with chronic health conditions to avoid going outdoors during peak heat hours and to stay well hydrated throughout the day.
