Rhodes and Kos Turks send aid to earthquake victims
Members of the Rhodes Muslims Education, Culture and Brotherhood Association sent aid materials by ferry to the regions where the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye, which was described as the "disaster of the century", were experienced.
The collected aid parcels were sent from Rhodes Island to Marmaris district of Muğla by Kartepe ferry with the support of Türkiye's Rhodes Consulate General.
450 boxes of blankets, clothes, shoes, pillows, quilts, towels, sheets, cleaning materials, food, and hygiene materials were loaded onto 2 trucks by Cruiseport Port employees.
The listed materials were delivered to Marmaris District Governor's Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation officials.
It was reported that the aid materials collected by the Kos Muslims Culture, Education and Brotherhood Association, founded by Turks living in Kos, were delivered to the Bodrum District Governor's Office. It was stated that the aid collected on the island of Lesbos was delivered to the Ayvalık District Governorship.
The materials loaded on the truck with the organization of AFAD were sent to the earthquake zone.
Salim Kırcalıali, Türkiye's Consul General to Rhodes, thanked the cognates and Greek friends in the region for their help in the post he shared on the social media account of the Consulate General.
