Residents of the flood-affected village demand that their houses be moved

According to Mega TV, in their official application to the local authorities, the residents of the village pointed out that the village is located in the Thessaly Valley at an altitude of only 90 metres and has been flooded 3 times in the last 70 years due to the fact that it is one of the lowest altitude areas in Thessaly.
Petros Kondoyanis, the headman of Metamorfosi village, stated that the inhabitants of the village, who were exposed to floods as a result of the adverse weather conditions, which meteorological experts called "Daniel", requested the relocation of 165 houses in the village with the help of the state.
In the village, which was previously flooded in 1953 and 1994, 2 people lost their lives in the flood in September.
The Greek press evaluated that this request could set an example for the migrations expected to be experienced as a result of the climate crisis.
