Patients to rate hospitals

The government is launching a new digital platform to assess the patient experience in public hospitals, the ministries of Health and Digital Governance announced on Wednesday.
The app, set to go live Monday, will allow discharged patients to evaluate their care by completing an anonymous questionnaire delivered via SMS.
Excluded from the program are pediatric, psychiatric and oncology hospitals.
Responses must be submitted within seven days.
The initiative was presented by the general secretary for Health Services, Lilian Venetia Vildiridi, alongside Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis, Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou and Deputy Health Minister Marios Themistocleous.
“Our goal is for the patient’s voice to become data so that hospitals and clinics receive a score,” said Georgiadis.
The data will be fed into a database to monitor long-term performance and publish satisfaction indicators, aiming to foster transparency and “constructive competition” among hospitals.
