More than 200,000 vehicles have been flagged for lacking insurance, unpaid road tax, or missing technical inspections (KTEO), according to the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE).
Initial cross-checks revealed 108,781 uninsured vehicles and 110,037 with unpaid fees. Vehicle owners have 15 days to comply or face fines ranging from €250 to €1,000, depending on vehicle type and violation.
Notifications are being sent via SMS, email, or mail, using contact details in the state registry. Citizens can check their vehicle’s status at oximata.gov.gr or through the gov.gr portal using their TaxisNet credentials.
The checks are part of a broader effort to enforce compliance and road safety.
