“No to War” march by SYRIZA Xanthi
A march was held in the city square of Xanhti on Monday night condemning the attack in Ukraine and demanding "no involvement in the war".
The march was organised by Syriza Xanthi. People participate to the march, expressed their solidarity to innocent people and demonstrate against the war.
The press release by Syriza Xanthi is as follows:
“The sense of security in Europe, after the Second World War, came to question the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in violation of international law, causing concern among the people who are watching the images of war numbly. With this reasoning, the members and the Youth of SYRIZA - Progressive Alliance of Xanthi expressed their opposition to this brutal invasion on Monday night, uniting their voice with all the citizens who are writing in peace and expressing their anxiety for the outcome of the businesses in Ukraine, setting new dangerous standards and uprooting a people, creating a new river of refuge.”
As it was stressed, "unfortunately the West once again seemed insufficient to anticipate and deal with the war, while even more worrying is the attitude of the Greek Government, which is governed by personal policies of the Prime Minister, who rushed to appear willing partner, essentially involving our country in the war in Ukraine and it was pointed out. ‘So our choice is only one. No involvement in the war. There is only one answer for us. PEACE’ ".
