The gathering included MPs Efi Ahtsioglou, Nasos Iliopoulos, Peti Perka, Theano Fotiou, and Hüseyin Zeybek, a Turkish MP from Xanthi. They displayed a board with the message: "Peace now, support for Lebanon, freedom for Palestine."

In a social media post, the New Left Party criticized Israel's far-right government, stating that after the genocide in Gaza, it opened the door to uncontrolled war escalation in the region with its terror attacks in Lebanon that have caused numerous deaths.

The party's statement also accused Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of being a reliable ally of Israel and condemned his silence at the United Nations General Assembly, saying he failed to speak out against the Netanyahu regime.

577 People Killed in Lebanon by Israeli Strikes

The Israeli military launched hundreds of airstrikes on southern Lebanon and the Bekaa and Baalbek regions starting on September 23.

According to Lebanon's Ministry of Health, the death toll from these airstrikes had reached 577 by Monday.

Abdallah Bou Habib, Lebanon's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, stated that the number of internally displaced people is nearing 500,000 due to Israel’s ongoing attacks. Migration continues from the southern regions to Beirut and northern areas.
