New details emerge in Kavala family tragedy: Brother killed with scissors
New information has surfaced regarding the family tragedy that occurred early Monday morning in the Kalia Farm/Nea Peramos area of Kavala. A 47-year-old man was found dead inside the home he shared with his two brothers, following an attack carried out with a pair of scissors.
According to initial reports, the suspected perpetrator is the victim’s 44-year-old brother, who was detained by police at the scene. The third sibling, aged 48, alerted authorities after witnessing a violent altercation between the two brothers.
The three men were reportedly living together in an isolated house located along an unmarked dirt road. When police arrived, they found the 47-year-old dead and observed visible injuries on the face of the 44-year-old suspect—signs indicating that a fierce struggle had taken place prior to the fatal incident. The detained brother was transferred to “Attikon” Hospital for initial medical evaluation.
A forensic expert examined the scene and is working to clarify both the cause of death and the sequence of events that led to the killing.
As the investigation continues on multiple fronts, early information suggests that all three brothers had a history of alcohol-related problems—an issue authorities believe may have contributed to escalating tensions and ultimately triggered the deadly confrontation.
Police are continuing to investigate the causes and circumstances surrounding this tragic case.
