The Greek Chamber of Shipping and the Turkish Chamber of Shipping (IMEAK) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Piraeus to enhance maritime cooperation and promote the exchange of ideas on shared industry concerns.

The Greek Chamber of Shipping and the Turkish Chamber of Shipping (IMEAK) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Piraeus to enhance maritime cooperation and promote the exchange of ideas on shared industry concerns.

The agreement was signed by Tamer Kıran, Chairman of IMEAK Chamber of Shipping, and Dr. George D. Pateras, Chairman of the Greek Chamber of Shipping.

According to a statement from the Turkish Chamber of Shipping, the MoU aims to:

Establish contact points for addressing technical or administrative issues encountered by members at Greek and Turkish ports.
Facilitate information sharing between the chambers.
Strengthen relations and foster collaboration on maritime matters.
Following the signing ceremony, the Turkish delegation visited Constantinos Capetanakis, Chairman of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA), to discuss relations between the chamber and IBIA.

The event and subsequent visit were attended by prominent representatives from the Turkish Chamber of Shipping, including Vice Chairman Recep Düzgit, Board Member Barış Türkmen, Deputy Speaker Emin Eminoğlu, Member Mustafa Aslan, IBIA Board Member Ufuk Erinç, and Deputy Secretary General Ender Kahya.
