Light rain and local storms expected in Southeastern Greece on Friday

Scattered showers are expected across Greece on Friday, November 7, with local thunderstorms possible in the southeastern Aegean. Temperatures will rise slightly in eastern and northern regions, while winds over the seas will remain generally light.

Rain is forecast in several areas throughout the day, with isolated storms developing over the southeastern Aegean islands. By late evening and into early Saturday, rainfall and storms are likely to intensify in western parts of the country.

Temperatures will show a mild upward trend, reaching 5–14°C in western Macedonia, up to 18–19°C in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace, 4–18°C in Thessaly, and 5–20°C in Epirus. Across most of the mainland, highs will hover around 20°C, while the Ionian Islands will see 11–19°C and the Aegean Islands and Crete 12–21°C.

Over the Aegean Sea, winds will begin from the north at 4–5 Beaufort, weakening and turning southerly later at 2–4 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea, southerly winds of 4–5 Beaufort will prevail.

In Athens, skies will be partly cloudy with a chance of light rain, mainly in northern suburbs. Winds will shift from light northerlies to gentle southerlies, 2–3 Beaufort, with temperatures between 14°C and 20°C.

In Thessaloniki, passing clouds and brief local showers are expected. Winds will remain light and southerly, up to 3 Beaufort, with temperatures ranging from 12°C to 18°C.
