Israeli tourists met with protests in Greece
A cruise ship carrying Israeli tourists was met with pro-Palestinian protests at the Argostoli Port on the Greek island of Kefalonia, according to local media reports.
The vessel, named “Crown Iris,” arrived at the port on Tuesday morning with approximately 1,500 Israeli passengers on board.
To ensure security, additional police forces were dispatched to the area from Athens and Patras. Several nearby roads were closed to traffic, and Israeli passengers were transported by private buses to their planned sightseeing destinations.
Meanwhile, pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered at the port, chanting slogans such as “Freedom for Palestine” and condemning Israel’s actions in Gaza.
The same cruise ship was reportedly protested last week at the ports of Patras and Kalamata on Greece’s Peloponnese Peninsula, also by supporters of Palestine.
