Heating oil prices lower than last year

Heating oil prices across Greece are approximately 16% lower compared to last year. While the average price per liter was €1.42 in 2023, it now stands at €1.19. Due to higher-than-average seasonal temperatures, demand for heating oil has remained low. Experts predict that prices are unlikely to rise significantly this winter unless there are major disruptions.
Nikos Papageorgiu, President of the Attica Petrol Station Owners’ Association, told ANT1 that, despite Middle Eastern tensions, low demand from Europe and China has kept prices stable.
The heating aid program is expected to offer support ranging from €100 to €1,000. Annual income limits for eligibility are set at €16,000 for individuals, €24,000 for couples, with an additional €5,000 per child. Payments will be made in two installments—one in December and another in April 2025. Applications will soon open on gov.gr.
