Health Ministry launches two new free prevention programs
Greece’s Ministry of Health has launched two new free prevention programs under the national “Prolambano” initiative, targeting adult obesity and kidney dysfunction, officials announced.
The programs form part of the National Program for the Prevention and Management of Cardiovascular Risk. Deputy Health Minister Eirini Agapidaki is scheduled to present details at a press conference at the Ministry of Health at noon.
The obesity prevention program is expected to cover around 30,000 adults who meet eligibility criteria. So far, more than 4,000 citizens have received free medical care, while 2,000 have been provided with free medication.
The kidney dysfunction prevention program has already begun and is expected to benefit approximately 1.5 million citizens.
