Greece: We are sinking while Türkiye gets stronger
On the Greek site Armyvoice, Türkiye's increasing power in the Blue Homeland has been under the spotlight.
In the news titled "Türkiye is planning new shipyards in the Mediterranean basin", it was said, "While Türkiye is planning new shipyards in the Mediterranean basin, one after another bankruptcies are occurring in Greece."
GREECE IS SINKING WHILE TÜRKİYE IS STRENGTHENING
In the news, it was stated that while Türkiye strengthened on the opposite shore of the water, Greece strengthened the French shipyards by purchasing frigates.
Let alone the construction of new shipyards, the neighbor cannot take care of the existing ones. Elefsina Shipyards, whose debt exceeds 432 million euros, is facing closure and 600 people are expected to be unemployed.
"WE ARE FLOWING BILLIONS TO THE SHIPYARDS OF OTHER COUNTRIES"
Stating that an inevitable comparison is required, the Greek site said, "While the Turks increase their ability to build their own warships, we pour billions into the shipyards of other countries. Türkiye already has two state-owned shipyards and a third private shipyard engaged in defense construction. In addition, its commercial ships are relatively low. It has many private shipyards that have the potential to build at a high cost." it was said.
REVENUES OF TURKISH MADE SHIPS INCREASED BY 375%
Pointing out that Türkiye is not content with being self-sufficient, but is on the way to become an indispensable supplier for the world, the news said, "It is remarkable that Turkish shipyards exported ships and yachts to 136 countries, including Mexico, Seychelles, India, and Oman, in 2020. The revenues of Turkish-made ships increased by 375% compared to 2018".
The rapidly increasing defense power of Türkiye is known to the whole world. In the air, on land, and in the sea, Türkiye has reached the level where it can determine the rules of the game itself. Implemented embargoes boosted production and critical defense elements, many of which were far superior to their counterparts in the world, were placed at the disposal of Turkish soldiers.
100% TURKISH DESIGN
Undoubtedly, this success did not go unnoticed by the neighbor who lived his life in fear of the Turks. "As for the possibilities of building warships, it was underlined that the Turkish Navy's corvette program is progressing with 100% Turkish designed ships." The following statements were used in the news;
As part of the MİLGEM program (National Ship program), TCG Heybeliada, a 4 Ada class corvette, was put into service from 2011 to 2019. The fifth ship, an I-class frigate, has been under construction since 2017, delivery possible in 2023.
75% of the first five ships were built with Turkish materials. According to the Turkish Press, Class I frigates will perform reconnaissance and surveillance, target detection and reconnaissance, early warning against enemy activities, base and port defense, anti-submarine, anti-aircraft and surface operations, amphibious operations, and patrolling.
