More than 337,000 citizens have already issued their Personal ID Number (P.I.N.) through the Ministry of Digital Governance’s new myInfo platform, a key step in Greece’s digital transformation of public services

The initiative, launched two weeks ago, enables citizens to verify and consolidate personal data like their Tax ID, Social Security Number, and birth information.

The system has also identified over 96,000 discrepancies, mainly in names and birth dates, allowing users to instantly submit correction requests. Most issues were found in AMKA (45,000+), Tax ID (30,000+), and ID card (20,000+) registries. Once verified, updates are sent directly to the relevant authorities.

Minister Dimitris Papastergiou emphasized that the P.I.N. is part of a broader plan to make the state more efficient and transparent, while strengthening citizens’ trust in digital services. The P.I.N. is also now included in new ID cards, with nearly 10,000 already issued.

Digital governance officials note that this reform marks a shift toward a more citizen-friendly and streamlined public administration, where accuracy, speed, and security are prioritized.
