A new poll by Real Polls has revealed a significant shift on Greece’s political scene, with the anti-establishment Course for Freedom (Plefsi Eleftherias) party surging to second place, surpassing center-left PASOK.
The ruling conservative New Democracy party still maintains a strong lead with 23.2%, but Course for Freedom, led by Zoe Konstantopoulou, has skyrocketed to 12.6%.
PASOK, previously in second place, now stands at 10%.
The survey highlights widespread dissatisfaction among Greeks, particularly in the wake of the deadly Tempe train disaster.
According to the poll, 55% of respondents view the ongoing protests as a broader expression of dissatisfaction with the country’s political system and governance.
