Four dead, 28 rescued in migrants' boat accident on Samos

Four migrants (two women and two minors) died and 28, including the trafficker, were rescued after a migrant boat crashed on rocks in the sea region northeast of Samos on Thursday.

Four migrants (two women and two minors) died and 28, including the trafficker, were rescued after a migrant boat crashed on rocks in the sea region northeast of Samos on Thursday.

The Coast Guard rescued 15 individuals from the sea and another one from the land.

Additionally, police located another 12 foreign nationals on the land in the area Vlamari.

A 19-year-old Syrian national was arrested allegedly the trafficker who transferred the migrants from Turkiye with the boat. 

The 27 undocumented migrants (16 men, 4 women and 7 minors) were transferred to the closed and controlled structure on Samos.
