The coast guard recently recovered the body of a migrant during a search for four missing people off the eastern Aegean island of Samos. Authorities launched the operation after locating 26 migrants near Petalides beach, who reported their companions missing. The search continues with multiple teams involved.

In a related effort, 108 migrants were safely rescued from a wooden boat about 41 nautical miles south of Gavdos, near Crete. The group was first spotted by a passing ship and then transferred to the port of Paleochora for medical and humanitarian support.

These ongoing rescue operations highlight the coast guard’s commitment to saving lives and ensuring safety at sea.
