The confidential documents and blueprints that a 36-year-old policewoman, who was arrested last week, showed to the alleged leader of a brothel and casino protection ring concerned paid death contracts of the so-called Greek Mafia, according to officials speaking to Kathimerini.

The officer, once assigned to the Financial Police, played a pivotal role in a major investigation into the syndicate involved in protecting brothels and casinos. Authorities confirmed that the documents, shown to the alleged mafia leader, were part of an ongoing investigation into money laundering and criminal activities. Despite her recent reassignment to the Juvenile Protection Unit, the officer had previously handled sensitive cases tied to the syndicate.

An undercover investigation by the Internal Affairs Service uncovered secret meetings between the officer and a 57-year-old man, known as “Lefteris,” who is allegedly at the helm of the crime ring. In one such meeting, recorded by security cameras in a restaurant in Keratsini on September 16, the officer was seen displaying classified police diagrams. Details about the case connected to these documents remain unclear.

Two weeks later, on October 1, 2024, the officer visited the home of Lefteris. During her 40-minute stay, she allegedly called a colleague within the Financial Police, requesting that he send her a photo of a specific police diagram. Authorities have confirmed that the diagram was tied to investigations involving criminal figures accused of orchestrating contract killings.

Authorities are still probing the officer’s motives and whether her actions were part of a scheme to bolster her standing within the police force or if there was a more sinister involvement in the criminal network. Investigations continue into her connection with other notorious crime figures linked to multiple murders between 2022 and 2023.

The first 10 suspects from a recent police operation remain in custody, with further interrogations ongoing.
