'Declaration of Friendship and Cooperation' signed for both sides of the Aegean

In Türkiye, the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer signed the "Declaration of Friendship and Cooperation" with Grigoris Katopodis, Mayor of Vironas in the Attiki region of Greece, and Christos Voshopulos, Mayor of Kesariani.
President Tunç Soyer said, "Fighting for peace is always valuable. It is even more important when tensions rise." Before the signing ceremony, the Aegean Peace and Communication Association presented the Metropolitan Mayor Soyer and the President of the International Organizations and Globalization Observatory (PADOP) Panos Trigazis with the 'Lifetime Work for Peace Award'.
Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer came together with the Mayor of Vyronas in the Attica region of Greece, Grigoris Katopodis, and the Mayor of Kesariani, Christos Voscopoulos, at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center and signed the 'Declaration of Friendship and Cooperation'. Bülent Tanık, President of the Aegean Peace and Communication Association, also attended the signing ceremony.
'WE WILL CONTINUE WORKING TOGETHER FOR A BETTER FUTURE'
"I am happy to welcome you here. I think that peace initiatives are more important in these times when tensions between countries increase. Fighting for peace is always valuable. This is even more important when tensions increase. This declaration is very valuable for developing relations. "I would like to thank the two mayors very much. We will continue to work together for a better future," Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer said.
Mayor of Vironas Grigoris Katopodis and Mayor of Kesariani Christos Voshopulos thanked Mayor Tunç Soyer for the signed 'Declaration of Friendship and Cooperation' and gave gifts.
'LIFETIME WORK AWARD FOR PEACE' TO SOYER
Before the signing ceremony, the 'Lifetime Work for Peace' award ceremony was held.
This year, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer and International Organizations and Globalization Observatory (PADOP) President Panos Trigazis were deemed worthy of the Lifetime Work for Peace Award, first given by the Aegean Peace and Communication Association in 2019. Aegean Peace and Communication Association President Bülent Tanık presented his award to PADOP President Panos Trigazis at the ceremony. The witness stated that they will present the award to Mayor Tunç Soyer in the coming days and said, "Tunç Soyer won this award with his contribution to the establishment of a peaceful environment in the Aegean, his vision for people to live in harmony with nature, and his life practice, starting from the Seferihisar Municipality Presidency and even much earlier.”
After the award ceremony, the 'Great Mediterranean Peace in the Footsteps of Atatürk' symposium was held.
