Androulakis on Tempi: I will immediately take the initiative to submit a motion of censure

Whoever saw the press conference and saw the evidence, on which we have focused our attention for many months, reaches one conclusion: that there are great responsibilities on the part of the New Democracy government, criminal mistakes, and that is why I will immediately take the initiative to submit a motion of censure," underlined main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change leader Nikos Androulakis in an interview on Thursday with SKAI TV.

He was commenting on the report of the Hellenic Aviation and Railway Safety Investigation Agency (HARSIA) about the 2023 rail collision in Tempi, which was released on Thursday.

Androulakis pointed out the report's reference to the alterations made at the site of the crash after the accident, which did not allow experts to determine what type of fuel
caused the huge fireball that erupted during the crash.

"For two years, the prime minister and New Democracy's officials mocked the Greek people, misled them about a very crucial issue, showing that, in fact, they did everything they could to hide their political responsibilities. Why is the fuel unknown? Because some people in those critical hours, without any orders from justice, went and had a meeting and decided to alter the site, as a result of which the taking of samples was overly delayed and the report today does not have evidence from those crucial hours and cannot tell us which fuel is responsible for that fireball. Isn't this a cover-up and withholding of evidence?'.

He added that "whenever New Democracy finds itself faced with a situation that threatens its authority, it proves that it is capable of anything in order to defend it. This is very dangerous for the quality of our democracy" he said, adding that "we need political change".
